Watering near the house

If you enjoy gardening like myself, I love my plants, you probably have a garden bed or two right up against your house somewhere. With the kids and dogs running and playing that seems like the smartest place to put one, less traffic and chance of getting trampled. Wrong, the more watering you do near the house the faster your home will start to sink. Especially in the Truckee meadows area where it was once all water already. When your home starts to sink things start to separate and crack which leads to many problems and compromises the structural integrity of your home. So a little tip to keep in the back of your mind for spring and summer time, keep your garden beds away from your house!
